Re: How do you carry your handgun while backpacking?

For years have had so much hassle from gents, pumas, and snakes, I carry it in my right hand, cocked and ready to fire. I fell over rock once, gun went off, but everything ok.

Re: Dedicating the Wallow Fire to the Bunnyhuggers

I like the highway because I can get to the high country quickly and it is very scenic!

Re: Snow Bowl Protesters

It is not "AWESOME",and it is not "peaceful". What do you have against "white people" playing in the snow?

I understand now; the rich are piggy, maybe evil, while the "poor" are rightous, caring, intelligent.

Re: New Prove-You're-A-Citizen law

I would suggest to those "lot of people", to start, by opening their houses to newcomers so that they will have a place to stay. There are a lot that need help, so open your bedrooms and kitchens to them and their families. If you have a back yard, erect tents for overflow situations which...

Re: Benches on Siphon Draw Trail

There seems to be a lot of anger here. Even a post about hikers "pulling them out". What is the big deal? Some people would like to plop down on a nice bench and look around. Meanwhile, the elitist hiker can just continue upward.

Re: Anyone familiar with CO summits?

Sure, exposing onself to elevations exceeding 12000 feet could be a problem for many, but usually not a serious one. Which Colorado mountains above 14000 feet are you interested in? I am knowledgable of them all.

Re: New Prove-You're-A-Citizen law

Apparantly you don't care about crime. Is is all right with you if I drive off with your car or take your lawnmower? Would things become more relevant with you? I need new shoes. I like yours. " Give" them to me.

Re: New Prove-You're-A-Citizen law

You cannot be middle of the line is this issue. You are either on the side, make excuses, for the multitudes of criminal alien squatters or you realize that every single one of them is a lawbreaker and needs to be dealt with.

Re: New Prove-You're-A-Citizen law

Ah..identify theft. Well, I suppose that is ok. I suggest that since you seem to support all sorts of illegal activity, why stop there. These people are apparantly poor. Why should they have to live cramped into small hovels hiding out when you and others could step in and help. It would be easy to ...

Re: Estrella Peak

The only access issues I thought about were crossing the Gila. Since it is the high point in the range, it has be be done. If you ask, the tribe will probably say no. Maybe you should do like the military..don't ask, don't tell.

Re: Estrella Peak

I have climbed it 5 times, always from the East, most recently approaching the Gila River by bicycle, dismounting, then on foot climbing the sweeping, twisting ridge to the summit. Twice, I encountered snow above 4000 feet, and once saw a number of boy scouts half way to the top. The most difficult ...
