Same here Matt - no idea what happened. But it started happening late Friday afternoon. At first it looked like the site was hacked - but now it's a weird consulting firm. No idea what is going on.

If anyone finds out, please post a message.

The drought has ended

Seems it's been a couple of years since I've wasted everyone's time with a pointless link.

Well, I say it's high time that drought ended.

Do you love Metal? How about Ninjas? Well - Ninja's love metal - so - well...I'm not sure where to go with that.

Oh, well - enjoy!

Aliens cause global warming

Don't let the title throw you. Michael Crichton recently made a speech titled Aliens cause global warming . It's long - but one heck of a speech. His argument is solid - and he presents it in a way that is really effective as well. If you have a spare 10 minutes for the read, I highly recommend it. ...

Good general site - but sometimes the links can be hard to track down.

A personal favorite of mine is the Hubble News Center.

Some of the pictures are just spectacular.

Interesting post. Well done on the survival part. Sucks that you had to get to that point though. I've been there before too - and it can be a revealing moment. Pete makes an interesting point: He made a decision to survive. We should all hope that we never find ourselves in a situation where we hav...

I'm not aware of any top-rope routs in the sups - a few sport routs that just need runners. I've heard of top-rope routs, but I just don't know where they are.

Camelback has the most accessable spots - and now is a good time of year to hit them. There's a pretty good local map that you can get at REI of all the available routs. It's hand drawn, but still a good map made by climbing enthusiats. There are also a number of good routs out in Devils Canyon - bu...

Hey, like I said - you don't have to be. Download the program and give it a shot. Trust me - you'll love it once you do a couple. I've gotten everyone in my office wasting all kinds of production time making fractal images. None of them are math whizzes - or even computer whizzes for that matter. Bu...

Link is busted - or they used all their bandwidth. Also - all but one of the images are from the Mandelbrot. It is said that you could never see the entire construct of a Mandelbrot in one lifetime - and it is doubtful you could see the whole thing in several lifetimes. It is an infinite construct w...

Man - don't pay attention to the site for a few days and look what I miss.

Absolutely unreal thread. I was going to beat a dead horse - but there is clearly no point in it.

I'm just stunned really - speechless and not willing to really jump into the fray.

Incredible.

In response to pfredricks' reply: "Summary" is a good explanation of that. But you're right - that site is a very good summary - I haven't seen one better. I recently got done reading a truly excellent book on the subject: Chaos: Making a New Science by James Gleick Gleick is a very good author and...

Fractal images

Okay - here is a fun little program: Fractal Explorer 2.0 . Go download it and use some of the tutorials that are linked to in the side bar of the main page (the link above is to the download page) to learn how to use it ( this one is a particularly good list of them - but really, the operation is i...

I was just reminiscing about the good old days when Olesma was the pot stirer in command. I miss them days. Don't fret none...I know when to take the reins. These folks can rip on me and my relationship with my wife all they want. It's all in good fun. And I encourage it with deliberate posts that ...

C'mon Tom - you know that's my wife's job...you'd have to get her ( : queen : ) permission first. UPDATE: the wife just walked in and sh...

So - essentially you're asking me if I would rather have $1,000,000.00 or $1,000,000.01.

Hmmmm.....

Each place has it's charms and beauty - both are quite different in many respects. I'd pick the Sups just cause they're closer, but that is really the only reason.

Sorry folks - My wife was going to post, but then decided against it. So I deleted the original post. Tom caught it before it was deleted.
