I completed the hike. It was nice. I tried to post a trip log, but was informed that I did it in the wrong place. Perhaps I'll try again.

I plan on backpacking in the superstition wilderness, but I need a place to car camp the night before my hike. I plan on using the Peralta trail head off of Forest Service Road 77. Don't let those guys discourage you. Organ Pipe has great camping opportunities. Yes, there are border issues that make it somewhat dangerous, but no more so than a bad neighborhood in Phoenix.
