Re: Value sleeping bags

I have the Kelty Light Year. 20° down. Its a little bulky and just a little on the heavy side, just under 3 1/2 pounds, but I love this bag. Never slept a cold night in it. I think I paid around $130 for it a couple years ago.

Re: Missing from Peralta 2/16

News reported this am about a woman that was reported missing from the same trail head. Also reported that she was the same woman that went missing back in Dec. looking for the Lost Dutchmans gold.

Re: What do you do for a living??

Currently I work as an A/C service technician. Just 3 more months and I will graduate with all the certifications I need. But as of a week ago, I was offered my previous position back as a superintendent for a home builder here in the valley. Considering all the time and effort I put into getting in...

Re: Cactus spine/needle removal

I stuck a mesquite thorn in the end of my thumb one time. Couldn't get it out, except 4 days later when my thumb was twice the size. I just squeezed my thumb and the end poped up. Out it came. Now mind, I wasn't feeling to well and I thought my thumb was going to explode. Wished I would have used th...

Re: CT Shooting

I have a 7 year old son (1st grade). I was up hunting when my wife phoned me the news. After weather forced us home, I sat with him in my arms and cried for the first time since he was born. Unbelievably sad situation. No words can discribe the pain in my heart I feel for the victims families.

Re: Those People

I have been known to talk about my home state, Colorado. I lived there for the first part of my life, 12 years. We then moved to Arizona. After graduating high school, I moved up to Idaho for a year, then moved back. I do complain about the heat in the summer here, but when I start hiking in the Sup...

Re: Hiking vehicles

My 6 year old Pathfinders that had 80% tread left on them finally decided that the AZ heat was to much. Side wall on one of the tires cracked. Well, with not a lot of money to spend on tires, I got the Hankook Dynapros from Discount tire. Final cost out the door was $695.03 for 265/70 r16. I took th...

Re: How do you carry your handgun while backpacking?

I carry a Glock 23 (mid size 40 cal.). I usually use a kydex (spelling?) belt hoster. it keeps my gun close to my side without any movement. I don't like my sidearm flopping all over the place like what tends to happen with a lot of other belt holsters.
