You might consider taking a look @ Vasque Catalyst's....... Five-ten soles with a light-hiker upper. They were on sale @ STP @ $50.00 - might be still. I can vouch for the grip in wet environments.
But, with that said, it's easy canyoneering, the Jug, so I'd say the heck with new shoes, do the trip before it scums up.
After checking for depth, it's easier/quicker to just
jump the fall. You might want 20-30 feet of rope for a hand line as the jump-off is off-camber.
