Fossil Springs Hike

Postby mcontreras » Jun 19 2006 12:51 pm

I want to do this hike, but I want to take our kids with us. We have Kelty kid packs for them, so we don't have to hear complaining. What I wanted to know was how long is that deaded hike back up? 1 mile 1 1/2 miles? 1 of them weighs 26 lbs, which I would carry and the other about 36 lbs, which my husband would carry.

Also, we just wanted to go as far as we had to, to see water. We just want to be able to frolic in the water with them and want them to explore. Thank for for the information?

This hike is about 4 miles one way, and it's the same trail in and out.
Because of the trees, you really can't see the creek until you get right down to it. Believe me, you would not want to hike to Fossil Creek and not get in the water. That should be illegal. It's too perfect there.

In response to mcontreras' reply:

We just drove there today. It is closed due to a fire hazard.
