Goat Hill

Postby brmerchant » May 12 2008 2:37 pm

Does anyone know at what point do you reach the end of the Goat Hill hike? (Phx South Mtn)
I'm wondering if the trail continues onwards after passing Goat hill?
What type of landmark should I be looking for on the trail to know I've reached the terminus?

You can see for yourself on this map
http://hikearizona.com/location_g.php?L ... 3,1147,156,

There are four hikes listed on that map that access Goat Hill. It's a landmark that the map list as a hill coming just before you transverse the four peaks formation (heading west on the National Trail), which is just west of the Ranger Trail junction.

It may not be proper but I call Goat Hill (and all the hikes listed go to) the high point knob on the far west end of the four peaks formation. This is how it was described to me by an old man that'd been hiking the range since the early 1900's.
Hike Arizona it ROCKS!
