Hammock trip mid April

Hammock trip mid April

Postby thedudephx » Mar 11 2010 9:56 am

I am new to hammock camping looking for a trail. 2 nights 3 days. Don't mind cold night but not looking for lots of snow on the ground. Any ideas?

When are you planning on going? (That will make a big difference!) Right now, anything in the state above about 6000' is going to have snow. This will change as the weather warms up this weekend, but any mountain trips are going to be out. Think low deserts, think riparian areas. Nothing like dangling from a mesquite or cottonwood in early spring, watching everything pop green...

I'm sure the guys in Phx will have a ton of recommendations for the Superstitions. That's probably where I'd go if I weren't in Tucson.

The Superstitions is one of the areas I was looking, and around Camp Verde. I am thinking around the 6th of April.
