I'm planning on heading up to do this climb on Monday. How long should this hike take? Has enough of the snow melted to make this doable? I briefly looked at a map and believe this climb goes Inner Basin-Weatherford-Humphries Trail; is that correct?

Last year with less snowfall it was pretty packed in on May 31st

There's much more snow on the mountain compared to last May. Judging by my O'Leary hike on Monday (http://www.hikearizona.com/photo.php?ZIP=137255) there looks to be substantial snow still above 11,000 feet, especially on the north facing slopes (which is the steepest terrain of that route). If you aren't familiar with dealing with snow, I think you might be in over your head.

It does not sound fun to me. Postholing is never fun. I've experienced that at 10,000 feet on Baldy and at 12,000 and 13,000 on Whitney. You are tired, and then your leg is suddenly plunged three feet deep in the snow, because it won't hold your weight. Especially bad when you are carrying a week's worth of supplies and gear on your back.

Doesn't sound fun to me either but I don't think there'll be much postholing. By this time of year it's a solid mass, getting traction is more of an issue.

The main issue is the traverse below Agassiz. I'm willing to bet the big "lazy z" switchback is distinguishable, and traversing on the icy slick remaining snow pack there would require some huevos.

Looked it up at the Coconino National Forest site...looks like the road to Lockett Meadow is one of six roads that is still closed.
