My girlfriend and I are going to Sedona in 2 weeks, our fitness level is moderate. Looking for an outa the way trail for a romantic hike and peaceful
surroundings.

Any ideas?

If you get up early for sunrise, you can hit just about anywhere and you should be by yourselves. Otherwise, avoid the really popular stuff. You might try some of the canyon hikes (avoid Boynton Canyon, Fay Canyon). H.S. Canyon is a nice short one and has very low traffic, or maybe Long Canyon which has the same TH. Solitude seems a little easier find back there, and they are of course farther away from town, so they're very peaceful. I've done sunset on a Friday night up on Sugarloaf and had it all to myself...you're right next to town but you might be more likely to have it alone compared to most other places...but I've only been there once so no guarantees. I think Mescal Mountain would also be a good option, it gets barely any traffic, but it is kind of close to the resorts and it could be noisy if there's construction, probably better at sunset...the route finding is confusing at first on Mescal, PM me if you want more info.

I had read up on several trails that looked good, but either didn't book mark it or lost the book mark. There was a trail review near Sedona that said it was in a canyon and the people only seen like 1 other hiker and 2 mtn bikers, and I can't seem to find that trail now. If you could PM more info that would be greatly appreciated.

For romantic it isn't about where in Sedona, it's about when. When is sunset. When is greatly enhanced with puffy clouds. Easy hikes with nice vantage points are the ticket... ie: Doe Mountain, Cathedral Rock, Cockscomb etc...

If you really want a mid day hike this would be my choice.

Sunset, sure, but puffy clouds are personal preference. I prefer clear dry weather sunset over humid clouds. I like to watch the sky grow dark as can only be done in dry conditions.
