Reavis Ranch (108 n?) (109 s?)

Postby jenny_dreadful » Jan 09 2010 12:33 pm

Hey all,

I'm new here. I'd like to do the Reavis Ranch hike. I'm not sure if I should do the 109 north or south. Anyway, I was reading the directions for where to park and it seems like the tailhead isn't very accessible. I have a tiny Toyota Echo. Where do you think the best place to park would be for a small car?

Thanks!

And there will be no water until you get to the valley the ranch is in. But it is the old road so is easy to follow without worrying about getting lost. Have fun...

I swear the old road is twice as long on the way back as it is on the way in, and it gets a little longer every time I hike it.

It's because you can see your car most of the way.

But hey the suns on your back and not in your eyes. Enjoy this trek back as well as it is mostly down hill! :y:

Ive gone to the North TH in a Honda Civic, you should be able to make it in the Echo. You have no chance of making it to the S. TH. Follow the directions and it takes you to the parking lot / TH. Like any TH don't leave anything valuable in the car and nothing at all in sight is even better.

I'd imagine after these storms the road probably isn't so doable in an economy car. I've got up it several times in my little kia rio but after these storms many of the turns will probably be washed out in a major way. Might even me fun stuff for 4wd considering how intense it was.

Also I've found having a bunch of fast food trash in your car discourages alot of wood be thieves :sl:
