White Rock Fire tanker crash

White Rock Fire tanker crash

Postby Rob del Desierto » Jun 03 2012 6:06 pm

BLM Utah just posted the following via Facebook:
"BREAKING NEWS>>A heavy air tanker dropping retardant on the White Rock Fire crashed shortly before 1 p.m., today, PST. The cause of the crash is unknown. The Iron County Sheriff’s Office is responding to the crash site, and emergency response teams and an investigation accident team are en route. Additional details will be released as they become available."
Fire is located in western Iron County, southern Utah. It started in Nevada yesterday and crossed the border into Utah not long ago.

:( That is sad. The loss of life is of course very tragic. But the loss of the air tanker is, too. There are a limited number of the things, and they are needed.
