Lupine ID

Postby big_load » Mar 22 2010 11:36 am

I noticed what seem to be two kinds of lupines growing intermingled in the Supes. I assume one is Coulter's Lupine. The other was quite similar, but had much narrower leaves. I thought maybe the leaves were just more folded, but they were narrower even when flattened. Any ideas (I'll get some pics up tonight).

I believe the Coulter's has the narrower leaf.

The one with the rounder leaf, may be an Arizona Lupine

Thanks, based on Anne Orth Epple, that looks right.
