Any Rain in the Superstitions SOON???

Any Rain in the Superstitions SOON???

Postby Teton » Feb 10 2006 5:09 am

Is there any rain in the forecast for the superstitions???
I am heading into the sups. for 8 days the first week of April or maybe the third week in March. There should be some water north on terrapin trail just before the dutchman trail. It has never failed me in the past. If anyone could help out with a good forecast that would be awesome?
If one way be better than another, that you may be sure it's nature's way.

Haven't been there myself recently, but never heard of Reavis not having water.

In response to davis2001r6's reply:

Reavis currently has flowing water.

I was at the Terrapin/Dutchman 2 weeks ago & saw no water.
I don't mean to inply that some obscure pool can't be found, though.
(Note: there has been no rain since then)

What is your planned route, Teton?

Unless your route takes by one of the more reliable springs (Hackberry, Charlebois, La Barge, maybe Whiskey), I would not count on seeing any water whatsoever.
I took some visiting company from out of town on the Garden Valley Loop this past Saturday. There was one very stagnant small pool in First Water Creek.

Good luck with that one. I'd love some rain too.
