Left my backpack at Barnhardt

Left my backpack at Barnhardt

Postby Metalrunner » Jan 24 2012 4:15 pm

I am new to this site and my first time to post a comment, or anything. Hopefully I don't do something wrong. Last Saturday, 1/21/12 I left my Marmot day pack at the Barnhard trail head, 17 miles south of Payson. When we left at 4pm there was just one other car in the parking lot. I live in Phoenix and didn't realize my mistake until I got home. The next morning (Sunday) I was the first to arrive at the Barnhardt trail head and both my pack and the car from the day before were gone. I'm convinced the hikers in this car grabbed my pack in hopes of getting it back to me. However, we have not connected yet. I left a note at the trailhead and at the highway where the Barnhard road begins. I also went to Payson and left a note at the Ranger station. I have posted a notice on Craig's List and have been calling the Tonto Forest office in Phoenix, Payson and Roosevelt lake every day.

I hope someone on this forum might have an idea(s) that I should try for finding the hikers that have my pack.

Thanks in advance,
Jeff

Sorry to hear but probably your best bet calling daily these three Tonto NF Ranger Dist Offices until you guys finally connect.

If HAZ does find it, we will require at least three triplogs, starting with your Barnhardt adventures... Just kidding. I won't throw up the Smilies Welcome Banner since your probably still mourning your missing pack. But welcome to HAZ! Thanks for posting.

I hope your pack shows up. I can guarantee if either HAZ'ers or AZH'ers found it, it will be returned. (because we are notoriously honest)

Good luck
