FYI - Just thot I'd share with you from the McDowell Gateway folks regarding Lost and Found:

The lost and found is actually located inside the conference room at the Gateway trailhead. The McDowell Sonoran Conservancy pathfinder volunteers can assist you in looking through the box of found items if you are there during the morning hours. Just talk to someone in a blue shirt!
For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination.
Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.

You sure are good at finding things while out hiking ... maybe since you go hiking so much, it's just a matter of the odds being with you?

I left a pair at a trailhead in the Frank Church Wilderness in Idaho. I didn't realize it until I checked in at the Boise airport the next day.

After a 5-day below-the-rim hike, I left a new pair in the South Rim parking lot (near the train station) back in 1999. I realized my mistake at 3am when I sat bolt upright from a deep sleep but when I checked at dawn they were long gone of course.

I've taped a half inch wide label with my name and cell number on both of my poles. At home after a hike and drive home....it's hard to drive back to the trailhead to look for your poles.
