Globe to Mammoth

Postby azbackpackr » Jul 23 2010 4:42 am

I will be driving to Tucson either on the 6th or 7th of August, and returning about a week later. I have heard there is road construction on 77 somewhere south of Globe. At one point I think they were even re-routing people through Superior and back over through Kearny. Ugh!

Anyone been through there lately? I guess I can call that 511 number and find out that way as well.

Thanks!

When I went down there was construction at Jones Water just before Globe, with only one lane open (during the day), alternating with flaggers. Only about a 10-15 minute delay at each flagger, but there were two sections with flaggers. Not sure if that has changed as well.

There was construction this past Friday but they didn't stop traffic. They are repaving the road. I can't remember if I saw the flagger with the "slow" sign on 60 or on 77.

Wished I had a kayak, though. The Gila near Winkleman, and also the Salt, were crankin'!
