The U.S. Forest Service reopened Lockett Meadow Road today to vehicle traffic.

According to information from the Forest Service, the road had been closed in the wake of the Schultz fire because it needed major reconstruction work. The road could be closed again this fall if road construction work begins again. Seasonal closures also will happen during the wet and muddy weather throughout the winter months.

High-clearance vehicles are recommended. Visitwww.fs.fed.us/r3/coconino for current conditions.
