Canyons unknown to me!

Postby GeorgAZ » May 26 2002 8:37 am

Saved these from the "Get Out" section. Has anyone explored the Burro Creek area? Cottonwood Canyon(from Frazier trailhead behind Roosevelt) Black Canyon(on the way to Bumblebee) Treasure Canyon(somewhere in the Hassayampa River Preserve-) I'm sure all these places are probably dry+off limits now+they are places I was always kinda nervous about trying alone. Any info?? :?: Thanks!!

They are all great trails. Make sure you take water with you. The general rule of hiking is not to do it alone. But sometimes you don't have a chioce. I hiked all those trails alone. I even ran into a rattler in cottonwood canyon. They were all great trails. Give them a shot. When they open again.

The route Warren describes to the trailhead takes you right by the old mining camp of Constellation, as well. Last time I was there, there were quite a few structures standing. There's also a vertical shaft at the top of the hill above the site.
