Jetman Over the Grand Canyon

Jetman Over the Grand Canyon

Postby PLC92084 » May 11 2011 8:54 am

Looks like Yves Rossy did it after all... Wonder if there were any hikers in that part of the canyon; it would have been really cool to see him fly by!

Now if they can just make jet packs small enough to fit in my pack...

I can't imagine how cool that would be. I've always wanted to try hang gliding, except for this awkward death fear I have.

Between the jet pack, robot, Penny (and Judy...), we never stood a chance... The Chariot I'll blame for my car-customizing fetish (but we'll save that for another group/thread...)

@Alston Neal

I'm not sure how to take that... If we ever get that gun-rental business off the ground, you may need to use caution while we're field-testing new products... ;)

I always wanted to free fall into the Grand Canyon ...
Is there anything out there, or is it just more of the same?

The fall is free, but the landing is costly.

@kingsnake
My dad was a pilot in WWII and he said he'd never jump out of a perfectly good plane.
In this case I'd never jump off of a perfectly good cliff...... :scared:

I think it would be more fun to jump from a plane, or better yet helicopter, into the canyon than off a cliff. I never understood BASE jumping. Seems too much of a risk. (Gust of wind, you're hosed ...)

If you've got the wingsuit, why do you need the jetpack and the helicopter?
Now this is flying ... Dean Potter rocks!

That guy is NUTS!!!!!! :o I like him. Wish I could do that, but I would have to wear depends.
