Hike in Globe area like Paria, but shorter

Hike in Globe area like Paria, but shorter

Postby erikshinn » Dec 06 2011 12:38 pm

I heard there is a nice slot canyon system near Globe that is good for a 2-3 day hike. Anyone know the system. Anyone done it? Will gladly send responders invites to the hike when we go.

What about that Devil's Canyon area, the one that is going to be closed by the mine? It is not a "hike," though. It is rock climbing (canyoneering) with ropes, wetsuits, etc.

So, I think the Squirrel is right. Check with the BLM in Safford for your Aravaipa permits.

The Safford-Morenci Trail has a nice slot canyon near Bonita Creek, and some other really interesting geology on the other side.

Aravaipa fits the bill. I'll be there this weekend!

There are some really cool narrows through that area, but total 'narrows' hiking is like maybe 2-3 hours. Way less people, though!
