Rabid Mountain Lion no match for skillet

Rabid Mountain Lion no match for skillet

Postby Al_HikesAZ » May 16 2012 1:07 pm

Rabid mountain lion in attack mode no match for Chino Valley man and his frying pan

I guess I'm going to have to start carrying a skillet when I camp in the Tonto National Forest. I love the photo they got of Brandon and Apollo.

Holy snickers!
I love it " we just packed up and moved to a place with less bushes".
I would have had to go home and wash my Transformer undies... :scared:
Wasn't it just 2 years ago a mountain lion jumped a kid on a quad at Sheep Bridge?

The reader's comment below the story is very interesting. I don't care how healthy a Mountain Lion is, it is not going to lurk next to a camp with 7 people in it to go after a dog. The camper's instincts were right about it being rabid and they did the right thing, dog or no dog....It could very well have been a person instead....
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty & well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, totally worn out & proclaiming, "Wow What a Ride!"

Guess there's more than one use for a cast iron skillet! Don't leave home without one :)

I always bring a big cast iron skillet when car camping but never thought to use it as a weapon.......

You obviously haven't camped with my brother-in-law.

Dare I even ask? OK, I'll take the bait.

Does he kill small critters with a single blow and are possums even remotely involved? :)
