I was just looking at the Google Map of SoMo trails and noticed a couple I've never heard of before. I wonder where the big G gets data from for such things?
The official SoMo map
published by Phoenix Parks and Rec does not have these trails on them.
Google has a trail mapped called Old Man Trail
. It corresponds with what is marked on HAZ as Corona de Loma - East
On the other end is the Young Man Trail
, which Trekkin Gecko created a HAZ page
for just last month.
Between the two, Google has a mapped trail called Midlife Crisis
. It runs the crest of Guadalupe Ridge and is so titled here on HAZ
Since none of these appear on the actual park map, where does Google come up with the names from?
Bing doesn't have the trails, nor does mapquest, yahoo or here. OpenStreetMap has Old Man and some of the official trails.
