The issue has been (and is the case for most if not all small breweries) getting a rep from say, Alliance Distributing or whoever to 'push' one's product. Some "salesmen" don't even know they are CARRYING the brand, let alone anything about the product(s). So self-distribution is the norm and is the current system in place @ THAT.
Sometimes a group of small breweries form alliances (no pun) to as to be able to have dedicated, educated reps out hawking the various product lines and sharing the expense. We'll see.
