Habitat:Fields, open meadows, woodlands, roadsides, dry canyons, mountains, shorelines and marshes. Canada and Montana south to Baja California, New Mexico and Mexico.
Description: Above, small indent in FW Wing Margin. Orange with open pattern of fine black lines. Below, orange to brown with dark lines and spots. HW has white marginal crescent and white bands.
Comments: Host plant: Thistle, Chrysalis and Tubercles.
