Passerina caerulea

Common Names:Blue Grosbeak

Habitat:Moist Pastures and Thickets. Summer Resident of much of the Southern U.S. all the way up to South Dakota. Winters and Full-time Resident of Mexico.

Description:Larger than a House Sparrow. Male is Dark Blue with two Brown Wingbars and dark Bill. Female is dark Brown with Buff Wingbars. Indigo Bunting is similar, but smaller and lacks Wingbars.
