Habitat:Eastern Oregon, Southern Idaho and Northern California, Nevada and Utah. Fields, Roadsides and Grassy Plains.

Description:Brown/Red Above with Gray. Dark Brown, wide Streak down the middle of the Back. Pale Gray below. Long Black-tipped Tail.

Comments:Live in Loose Colonies. One of the Longest Hibernating Mammals in North America, with some Males starting Hibernation as early as August.
