Derobrachus geminatus

One up the biggest beetles in North America, reaching up to 3.5" long. They are found in the American southwest and northern Mexico, where palo verde trees are also found. Adults emerge in the summer to breed, living only for a month. Adults do not eat, but grubs, which may live for up to three years, can do significant damage to a wide variety of trees.
