| | Started from the Mountain View trail head and ultimately made it around The Mercury Mine Loop after walking around in the Valley to the West and South of the mountain. Then worked my way over to the Stony Mountain.
Missed the turn off to the Climb after trying to get a picture of one of the large Jack Rabbits out there. I never did get a good picture. After going past the turnoff by about 1/2 mile, I turned around to go back for the turn for the climb.
It was a nice climb to the top. I always try to find something interesting in every hike I take in this great state, be it the views, water, wildlife etc. On this hike I was enamored with the shale formations.... Very interesting. I've never seen anything like them. Pictures are under Mecury Mine Loop and Stony Mountain | _____________________
