Car camped in the area and explored around the springs and Rachel's Pools ( named for homestead of Rachel Lee, one of John D Lees' wives; and a waypoint on wagon trips along the Honeymoon trail) found the foundation of Rachel's house, and looked at the low rock walls everywhere along here.
Next day up and walked old road to the base of the Sand Crack route to the rim of the Vermillion Cliffs. Decided to go to the spring in the cliffs, found a cairned route headed up out of there and followed that to a talus slide, cliff ledge route the bighorns like also.
Lost the route up there and scrambled around, working my way over to the main route near a pinnacle to the rim. Along the way chert chippings, pottery shards, and petroglyphs on the base of the pinnacle. Ran out of time to go on up and came down the well cairned route from the pinnacle. Tremendous views, hazy day.
