I can't believe this was my first time hiking out of First Water TH. Very nice hike. Saw a lot of birds, lizards, and mayflies. There were many portions of this hike where the heavy brush and tall grass is right up against the trail, and I remembered why Stiller wears his snake-gaiters. I was almost expecting to get hit by a buzzworm. Great weather, and even better clouds for photography. Only saw 3 pairs of people: a couple at the beginning who I informed that they were looking at a globemallow, 2 younger dudes who looked like the trail was getting the better of them, and another couple 2 miles from the end who were taking photographs and are obviously REI junkies like myself.
I'm looking forward to coming back in the fall. I originally intended on doing something in the Pinals, but I was too worried about what this little storm we had late this week did.
