My first visit of the year to Pomeroy Tanks to check out the results of the bad winter. There is still alot of water in the tanks, but a curious lack of noise from the frogs. I only heard one. There are little fish and some 6" fish in the lily pond. Spring flowers were blooming--iris, phlox, wild dandelion, regular dandelion, nodding onion, lily, trixis and a new one that I need to identify. Ran into a hiker who was doing the loop--nice guy who didn't know the lily pond was around the corner, off the main trail. Saw the gopher snake on the main road and almost ran him over. He looked like a stick in the road!
