It was great meeting Jim, Jake, George, and briefly, Denny and (holy moo cow!) even Joe! First time I had met any of them! Denny and Joe started out earlier, so we met them at the saddle and sat and visited for awhile.

I had that experience you read about in sappy novels: "The wind took my breath away!" Well, it really did! Very strange sensation when coming down off the peak. I felt I could not get a breath unless I faced away from the wind. Plus, I could not stand up, the wind was so strong! Jim helped me by taking my poles and I butt-scooted and crab-walked until I could stand up. It was only for about 100 feet or so, and then the wind velocity seemed less and the exposure less, so I could stand up and walk.

So it turned out to be a little bit of an adventure with that incredible wind!

Some of my photos had a furry blob in the middle so I deleted them but still got enough to represent the hike well enough.

Thanks again, Jim, for organizing this one! Next high point: Baldy!
