Decided on the Grant Hill loop for my 4th of July weekend hike. I expected to see a lot of other hikers when I arrived at the trailhead at Noon after passing many packed campgrounds near by. Only 2 mountain bikers at the trailhead just starting down the path. I hit the trail (clockwise) and 1 mile in I arrived at the granite viewpoint with jawdropping views of the Sulphur Springs valley below. Another mile and another incredible view of the valley below. From here the trail took me deep into the pines before emerging into a clearing with a good view of the Mt. Graham telescope. Another mile and I was back at the parking lot completing the 4.5 mile loop. I did this loop 5 years ago and forgot what a great trail this is! Incredible views, cool breezes with lots of Aspen & Pines.
