Tried to hike the Heart Trail from my house and got doused after 15 minutes, not to mention the ominous cracks of thunder from above, so I went home and left for Sedona. Started at Midgely Bridge and headed toward Grasshopper Point with intent of checking out the Allen's Bend Trail. Got to Grasshopper and couldn't necessarily tell where Allen's Bend started for sure, but I headed upstream on what looked to be the right trail. After 30 yards and numerous beer can trash sightings I came across a pack of alpha-male jack-offs hooting and hollering to celebrate their ill-fated camaraderie. Disgusted, I turned around immediately. Thought about throwing their shoes in the creek. Decided against it, but now have regrets. A tripod doubles as a weapon, you know. Explored downstream a ways before deciding to head back toward the Huckaby Trail. Got lazy and wasted about 20 minutes trying to scramble up a loose scree slope full of angry desert vegetation before cliffing out. The actual trail back to Huckaby was only about 25 yards away. Wandered down to the creek on Huckaby and shot some cascades utilizing the dark, overcast skies. It started raining on my ascent up the Midgely, which was full when I arrive and almost empty when I left. Headed to Red Rock Crossing.
I'm standing alone on the cliffs of the world No one ever tends to me Sitting alone, covered in rays Some things are so my mind can breath
