I meandered a bit to make this 13.2 mile hike into 13.8 miles. Another beautiful day. The Christmas Meadows trailhead is far away from civilization so I had it all to myself on a Monday in late September. Driving back 47 miles on route 150 is open range for cattle and there were many (one group was about 20 in size) just wandering on the highway. That was fun. Drove slowly through the groups without using my horn and they very nicely gave me a lane - sometimes on the left side of the road.
