Headed up to Sedona with my wife(she was on business). Her company put us u for the night at the L'Auberge de Sedona...WOW its nice! After 10 minutes in that place, though, I needed some dirt, sweat, and a trail head. The thought of Angel Falls flowing after the monsoon the night before made Brins Mesa trail an easy choice. I parked at the Jordan Rd trail head and started the gradual ascent. Downpours came randomly, and at times I started to wonder if a minor flood could occur, but the rain stopped around half way through my trip up. The climb up was a welcome cardio surprise and, I must say, when you reach the top of the mesa this may possibly be the best view of Sedona. Based on previous trip logs I found the side trail to Angel Falls lookout by heading on a barley visible trail to the right. From here the overlook was about 3/4 of a mi gradually uphill( heading right at Wilson Mountain). The falls were to light to photo, so instead I scurried round the jagged red rocks and dead juniper trees until I found an amazing scene of a dead Juniper. This area is really worth checking out, even if the falls aren't flowing.
Later that evening I met up with Joel(azpride) and shot red rock crossings in the monsoon of the year. After getting our buts kicked by it, we searched for Joels shoe that was taken by the current, so if you happen to see a boot near RRC, please return
