Fun underground with Angela, Cody, Robert, Doug and Rose. I've done this a number of times before, but not for more than 10 years. In fact, my last stack of photos from the cave are (shocker) on film. You remember, that expensive stuff that used to moderate the number of photos that we took?

I thought that the cave looked pretty good. Except for the broken large cell battery at the entry, tons of cigarette butts and a few spray-painted arrows (how do you freaking get lost in a TUBE for pete's sake!) I thought the place looked pretty much exactly like it did back in the day.

Although I felt better than I had the day before, I was still pretty hazy and off my game. The cool, dark tube was the perfect place for me to come off my migraine hang-over. We timed our visit just right, too, since two large tour groups and several smaller groups of science-campers were headed in as we were exiting.

Other notes for those who may want to explore the tube in the future: gloves help, good sturdy shoes with ample tread for the slippery rocks are a must, and try to remember that there is no such thing as biodegradability in a freezing cold cave. Pack out more human waste than you packed in.
