This is a great little hike to the intersection with the AZT and back. Really cool rocks at the start with mountains in the background. Boring flat forest and then down a short stretch to the canyon floor and it was filled with short yellow aspen. Not many tall ones but they were all yellow.

The mileage of 1.0 roundtrip would be silly - - who would go 0.5 in and out and see not much of anything and go back? Although technically maybe that is the length of the Sandy's Canyon trail itself. Go at least to the AZT intersection and back.
