What a CRAZY time to be at the south rim! Three straight days of RAIN and some hail. No joke it rained and rained and rained. Thick hard rain and then whispy slashing rain. I felt sorry for the people who were there for the first time - you could barely see the canyon when it wasn't pouring rain. Here and there the fog and clouds would waft out and you got a glimpse of rocks. We dashed to the edge and walked around when the rain would let up.

No chance of hiking for us: cold rain with 2 year old and me pregnant. No freakin' way! But we did enjoy the new indoor activities - can't believe that's what we were reduced to. But the new visitor's center is nice and we rode the bus for the heck of it around a bit. Just to get a break from being soaked to the core.

The drive home today (the 6th) was intense through a whole lot of hail and whipping winds. We stayed away from I-40 with the tornado closures.
