This was my "summer is finally over / welcome back to the Superstitions" hike. I thought I was going to get rained on all day but it turned out to be perfect weather. Every time the dark clouds started collecting, the winds would pick up and blow them away. I did the loop mostly as described but instead of taking the Dutchman all the way from the Cavalry, I cut through Bull Pass. I recommend this route for sure-- Bull Pass has great views. I considered going up to the top of Black Top Mesa but at that point it looked like it was going to storm so I opted not to-- I wish I had, though. When I arrived in the morning I saw one hiker coming off the trail and then I saw one person packing in about a mile from the TH on my way out. It was a nice day of solitude in the desert.
