Awoke today to see the top of Mt Graham covered in thick clouds & fog. Checked the weather forcast and it said cloudy but no rain so I headed up. 8000 feet up the Swift Trail and I was driving through the clouds and was pleasantly surprized to see that the top of the mountain got it's first snowfall of the year! This is the earliest I have seen it snow up here in a long time. I thought cool, snow hike!!! Arrived at the trailhead and hiked the outside clockwise loop stopping at the 2 overlooks and eating lunch at the last aspen patch before returning back to my truck. The sound of crunching snow under my feet and seeing the aspen leaves falling onto the snow this early made this my most memorable Grant Hill hike to date! Also, the autumn colors driving up the Swift Trail are really starting to pop and are worth the drive alone!
