I hiked up to around 6700 feet, on a gloomy, drizzling afternoon, with temps in the low 40's. The Rim was buried in clouds. The box elders were fully yellow, but only a few bigtooth maples had begun to change. I saw no one on the trail until I arrived back at the trailhead, where a small group was setting up camp. Another great lunch break hike!
