Ah, real nice hike. Aspens were popping. 21 elk; stumbled on one off trail that was recently cleaned by a hunter. Yum. Really big fan of this loop. Pretty cool post-fire area and shows multiple forest stages quite nicely. We had an amazingly pleasant hike in the forest before I left tortoise survey in Nevada. Nice temps, a little bit of rain with mini hail nuggets, and meadow napping. The woods will always be my favorite for sure. I'll keep coming back to Kendrick Wilderness and super happy that nearby Kachina Wilderness draws the crowds.
