Arrived at the trailhead at noon. Met a real nice family of 3 getting ready to hit the trail and we spent some time talking about how much the last mile of FR660 pumpkin sucks! I headed off solo and hiked just to the aspens and back. The autumn colors were great and I can't remember ever taking so many pics on one trail. By the end of the day I had well over 300 on my card! I would rate the foliage as Substantial right now. One of the highlights of this hike was encountering a rafter (I looked it up) of about 15 turkeys on the trail both going up & down. Talked with the family again after the hike before heading home as the sun was going down. There was a LOT of hunters in the area today and 2 on quads going up this trail as I left.
