My first time in the Tonto and I HIGHLY recommend LONG PANTS for all the noobs (see photo).

LOL @ Chris---talking about John and I getting off trail a few times...he failed to mention how helpful it was for us to be SO FAR AHEAD OF HIM during the hike. ;)

Ruins were interesting as we discussed war and water strategies for the Indians.

2 good bros and a fun, beautiful (and safe) day hike; couldn't ask for more. Weather was simply spectacular. Would have enjoyed a bit more adventurous loop back to the vehicles, but Chris made the right decision.

Rustled up a couple of coveys of quail and saw two garter snakes near the parking lot as we returned; have yet to see my first javelina.
