I went up to Snowbowl Rd to check the gate and it is still locked. I think I may try Humphrey this week if I have the chance and conditions. Elden is at that time of year when the trail varies from mud to ice and snow. The snow and ice slow me down, a lot, and I also took my time and stopped a fair amount to enjoy the view. The conditions on top were excellent and I sat up there for a while enjoying the view to the east. I think this will probably be the last time I do Elden. I don't like the trail when it is like this and I would rather do Humphrey if the conditions get better, or go to Sedona.

I think Monsoon season will begin around June 20, plus or minus 5 days, not by the calendar according to the NWS, but when dew points rise dramatically, and it begins to rain over the Sacramento Mountains. It will start about 10 days later in Arizona.
