Took a great trip out to the Gila Box Riparian National Conservation Area. Hiked the Cottonwood trail loop starting from the wildlife viewing platform and finished at the Bonita creek/Gila river confluence. I then took a short side trip up Bonita creek about a 1/2 mile before turning around and returning to my truck. The whole area looks amazing right now with golden colors lining the river & creeks! This whole place (to me) is really a hidden jem in the SE desert and I'm always surprized by the lack of people using it, I only saw 1 other truck all day.
