This was a modified version of the Marsh Valley Loop hike, incorporating a car shuttle so we could include the great Boulder Canyon Trail from Canyon Lake as part of it. Stashed a car at First Water then headed up to the marina at the lake to start. Down the Boulder Canyon Trail past the junction with the Second Water Trail, then on the Cavalry Trail to Marsh Valley. We took a long break here and decided we had burned too much daylight to go on the Dutchman's Trail section that goes to the south of Black Top Mesa (though that is such a cool stretch). So we shortened it by going on the Bull Pass Trail to catch the Dutchman again. Then on the long finish on the Dutchman via Parker Pass. We got to the parking lot at First Water just as the last light of the day was almost gone. Back up to the lake for a cold one at the marina, Mexican food in Apache Junction, and back home in Tucson around midnight. A long great day it was!
