Beautiful, beautiful mountain! Very nice hike as well. Everyone I spoke to today said they didn't summit, aside from one woman who was just beginning the climb as I was leaving. Lots of cholla in the chute - learned that the hard way. At one point, I stopped for about 5 minutes and thought about turning back, but just couldn't do it... The top was right there!

Didn't stay up top for very long. I wanted to get the seemingly scary down-climb over with. Worked my way down the chute on my butt, for the most part. Much, much easier than I thought it was going to be. I'd say coming up was worse, thanks to 1 or 2 awkward places. On the way back to the trailhead, I checked out a couple rocky outcrops in hopes of finding the azimuth mark, but no dice.

Glad I could be there today. Even happier that I made it all the way.
